Fancy yourself a bit of a speed freak...got a creative side that just needs to come out join our fellow speedsters careening down conical hill for the Hanmer Springs Trolley Derby.

This is an opportunity to visit areas of the Hossack and Lochiel Stations, not normally accessible to the public.

The annual Rainbow Rage event is a 106km mountain bike adventure ride that starts outside of St Arnaud, goes through some of the South Island's awesome sub alpine high country, and finishes in the Hanmer domain. First held in 1996 with 66 starters, because of its unique course and great spirit the ride has continued to grow: 1997 - 88, 1998 - 224, 1999 - 1009, 2000 - 1295. In 2001 a new record of 1604 entries was received. We welcome you to meet the challenge and experience the reward of this outstanding New Zealand mountain bike adventure on 15 March 2008.

Bull Riding is an exciting event for all age groups and genders. This show will also be complemented with food and bar sales throughout the day.

This is one of the most scenic half marathons in New Zealand with men’s, women’s, Veteran men’s and Veteran women’s grades. Maybe tackle the 10km fun run for the not so serious runner and relax in the hot pools afterwards.

This event is truly an adventure, from getting to the start line to the camping overnight and the race out.

You will experience everything that you have ever heard about the high country - dramatic craggy mountains, vast grassy flats and stunning crystal clear rivers.

Normally closed to the public this is your once a year opportunity to race the original track (now a single lane gravel road) used for over 100 years to muster cattle from the historic legendary Molesworth Station to Hanmer Springs.

Choose between a 5km run followed by a 12km mountain bike ride, or a 10km run followed by a 25km mountain bike ride.
Both races will be run on forest roads and tracks, over terrain suitable for beginners.
