Driving Directions
From Christchurch: Head North out of Christchurch on SH1, take left onto SH7(Waipara). Follow past Waikari and Culverden. Hanmer Springs is clearly sign posted to the right, 10 minutes drive from intersection.
From West Coast/Nelson: Head for Springs junction, from either location. Road (SH7) from Springs junction heads up over Lewis Pass, once down the other side, Hanmer Springs turning clearly marked on the left.

Hanmer Backpackers and Shuttle do a trip three times a week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday), leaving Hanmer at 2pm, going from Kaikoura at 4:30pm. Only $25pp one way.
